Battery Life and Care
The expected lifetime of your battery differs depending on the battery you have installed. Check the top of your battery for warranty information on your specific battery, or let our experts check it out for you. Batteries that fail before the warranty expires may be eligible for a free or reduced-cost replacement, so knowing how old your battery is could even save you money on a new one.
No matter how long your battery warranty runs, you should have your battery tested at least twice per year. Our Buick GMC service center serves Hampstead and Leland drivers with battery service checks that can let you know about the health of your battery so you can have it replaced before it leaves you stranded.

Extreme heat and cold, multiple jump starts, and a bad alternator can all cause damage to your battery even if it is fairly new. If you're experiencing issues with starting your vehicle, notice your headlights are dimmer than normal with you're A/C switched on, or electrical components seem to be acting unusually, it may be time to have your battery replaced.
